October 8, 2026
Halloween 2026 falls on a Saturday, so it would make sense to plan the month around Oct. 31. Corona's calendar works differently. Nearly every organized, free, family-scale Halloween event confirmed in town so far sits on one of two weekends: Oct. 9–10, when the city runs Halloweekend, and Oct. 23–25, when three separate trunk-or-treats land within three days. As of the first week of October, the 31st has nothing comparable on the books.
Families who wait for Halloween itself will find that most of the season is already over. Families who mark those two weekends now will have a full October.
| Date | Event | Where | Cost |

The pumpkin patch runs all month. Almost everything else falls in two tight clusters.
The City of Corona's Halloweekend carries the theme "Tale of Heroes and Villains" this year and runs over two nights in two different places.
Friday, Oct. 9 starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Corona Public Library on South Main Street. The city lists STEM activities, Halloween Story Time, Bingo and treats, and costumes are encouraged. This is the smaller, indoor-leaning half of the weekend, and it suits younger kids who do better with story time than with crowds.
Saturday, Oct. 10 moves to the front lawn of the Historic Civic Center at 815 W. 6th St. From 5 to 7 p.m., the lawn has a community Treat Trail, games, a spooky themed maze, booths from local organizations and businesses, music, photo spots with heroes and villains, and giveaways. At 7 p.m. a family movie starts on the lawn, and the city asks people to bring their own blankets and chairs. Both nights are tagged as free events on the city's calendar.
The 2026 listing doesn't name the movie or mention a costume contest. Families who remember last year's details should check the city's event page closer to the date instead of assuming the same lineup.
The same building hosts something else that week. The 2026 State of the City is at the Historic Civic Center Theater on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 6 p.m. That puts three consecutive evenings of city programming around 6th Street and South Main.
After Halloweekend, the city calendar goes quiet for nearly two weeks. That gap is when The Pumpkin Factory on Circle City Drive is easiest to visit, and its pricing makes the case.
The patch is open Oct. 2 through Oct. 31. Admission is free on Wednesdays and Thursdays and $5 Friday through Sunday. Kids 2 and under always get in free, and parking is free. Weeknight hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. Friday runs 4 to 10 p.m., Saturday noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday noon to 9 p.m. The patch is closed Mondays and Tuesdays, except for Columbus Day. Columbus Day falls on Monday, Oct. 12 this year, the first weekday after Halloweekend, so that Monday is an extra open day.
The patch has rides, games, food, a petting zoo and pumpkins grown on the operator's own family farm. For a family of four, a Wednesday or Thursday visit on Oct. 14, 15, 21 or 22 costs nothing to enter, compared with $20 at the door on any weekend. Those weeknights also fall before the late-October rush.
The second cluster is the busiest stretch of Corona's October, and it arrives a full week before Halloween. Here's how it runs, in order:
All three evenings start between 5 and 5:30 p.m. and end by 8:30 p.m., so a family could go to one each night without a late bedtime. Candyland has the longest program, and its movie at sundown makes Friday the longest night out. Olive Branch is the only one of the three with a set add-on price, which helps with budgeting.
Saturday, Oct. 24 also has events before dark that aren't about candy.
At 8 a.m., City Park Rangers lead Nocturnal Animals, a hike from the Green River Ranch Trail / Skyline Trailhead on Green River Drive. Check-in starts at 7:30 a.m. Participants have to register and complete a liability waiver in advance. It's a natural fit for the season, held in daylight at a trailhead most of the city can reach quickly.
From noon to 5 p.m. that day, Fire In The Hole, a cornhole fundraiser with food and drinks, takes over The Shops at Dos Lagos at 2780 Cabot Drive. It wraps up in time for families to head to the aFe POWER trunk-or-treat at 5.
The night before, on Oct. 23, Soroptimist International of Corona hosts its More than Chocolate, Wine & Jazz Festival 2026 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Hidden Valley Golf Club, 10 Clubhouse Dr., just over the line in Norco. It overlaps with Candyland. For households splitting up that Friday, one parent can take the kids to Crossings while the other goes to Hidden Valley.
As of early October, the late-month calendar is thin. The Pumpkin Factory stays open through Oct. 31, and on a Saturday that means noon to 10 p.m. at the $5 weekend price. The Shops at Dos Lagos ran a Halloween trick-or-treat event with costume contests last year on Friday, Oct. 31, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. Its Halloween page still shows that 2025 date and hasn't posted a 2026 version, so nobody should count on a repeat until the center updates it.
So the late-October weekend that's already confirmed is the 23rd through the 25th, not the 31st. Halloween night in 2026 belongs mostly to neighborhood streets, porches and the pumpkin patch.
There's also something new on North Main Street. Uncle Artie's Chicken Wings holds its grand opening and ribbon-cutting at 641 N. Main St. #101 on Monday, Oct. 5, from 3 to 5 p.m., according to the Corona Chamber. It's a short drive from both Halloweekend venues on South Main and West 6th Street, which makes it an option for dinner before the library program on Friday, Oct. 9.
